Located in the growing downtown Edmonton neighborhood of Oliver, the Venetian features 145 units of apartment condominiums spread over six stories of concrete and steel structure resting atop a heated, underground, cast-in-place concrete parking structure.
The Venetian features unique building geometry and layouts providing a diverse array of unit configurations, generous balcony sizes and high ceilings, enhancing owner’s enjoyment of the space.
With the Venetian, Protostatix was tasked with designing a structural solution that minimized waste and erection time, which was complicated by the non-rectilinear shape of the structure. To this end, review of proposed layouts with subtrades and fabrication personnel aided Protostatix in arriving at a final design which stressed efficiency and effectively reduced overall framing costs.
