Blazing a New Path
Recently completed and serving the client and their customers as intended, Toyota on the Trail, located on Calgary Trail South, in Edmonton, Alberta is a new, green field, car dealership utilizing the latest Toyota building design prototype.
Structurally our challenge was to meet owner requirements for large, open spaces, while maintaining the strict prototype criteria set out in the project guidelines. Given the tight tolerances present with the various mechanical and electrical systems, coordination with other sub-consultants, the architect, and pertinent trades was of critical importance. In particular, coordination of the curved front showroom structure with the contractor on site, structural steel and concrete sub-trades, and the project Architect proved critical in arriving at the most cost-effective structural solution possible while maintaining the desired appearance.
